Amazing work from local Young Artists is on display
Our eighth showcase window at the office of Assemblymember Robert Carroll is installed and features amazing artwork from a group of local young artists. Their ages range from 4 up to 18, and they are working in oil, acrylic, mixed media, photography, and oil pastels. Each artist came to our group through one of our members. Joyce Riley suggested artwork from her son Jonah, as well as from students she has taught during the school year and at group classes she gives. Susan Greenstein leads the Young Artist Workshops at local 440 Gallery, and has nurtured Brianna, who created the portrait of James Baldwin. Joy Makon discovered that her friend’s grandson is an observant, sensitive photographer, and Rich Garr and Karen Giordano naturally had wonderful pieces to share from their visually-astute kids! We are all proud of the work in this showcase and hope it brings lots of smiles to those who get to see it. At 7th Avenue & 14th Street in Park Slope.
