Join 440 Gallery artists and educators
Susan Greenstein and Janet Pedersen for a 2-day workshop
in beautiful Historic Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn!

This workshop is designed for people who have had some experience painting on location. We will meet both days for demos, instruction, painting, and constructive critique. Instruction will be in watercolor and oil. You should plan to share camaraderie and enjoy painting the vistas and landscapes of historic Green-Wood cemetery!

Workshop limited to 8 participants, guaranteeing lots of personal attention.
Deadline to register is Friday May 14 at midnight.
Register online here: https://440gallery.formstack.com/forms/workshop

Workshop dates: May 22-23, 10am - 4pm (with a break for lunch) Transportation and lunch NOT provided.
Rain date: June 5 -6.

Cost: $250 (a portion goes to Green-Wood Cemetery)

Day 1: Meet at a decided upon location at Green-Wood. We will study composition, design, brushwork, value, and color harmony.
Day 2: Building on the day before, we will further examine dynamic landscape and architectural features that make a compelling composition. We will investigate scouting out locations, working out compositions with thumbnail sketches, simplifying a scene, figuring out what is essential and what can be left out. There will be a final critique at the end of each day.

You will be contacted with additional details, meeting times, locations and a supply list upon completing registration. A week before event, we will meet/greet on Zoom and answer any questions you might have—that way once we settle into the cemetery we can dig right in with demo’s and time to paint!
