As a child or perhaps in my mother’s womb I sensed the impulse to heal others with my hands and through the visual arts. My parents’ dress factory inspired a career as a knitwear designer to avoid the proverbial “starving artist” syndrome. Ten years later planning for a future family in the suburb promoted the next career teaching art to JHS and HS kids in NYC. Ten years after that, my intense need to use art as a healing vehicle increased, leading me to cultivate my classical skills at the art students league of NY garnering the discipline to capture the sitter’s physical likeness and divinity. When commissioned to do a portrait the healing energy that is activated becomes a reciprocal flow. Creating art is channeling healing energy which comes directly from divine source. The more I attempt to capture an individual’s essence the more I recognize this healing energy as pure love. Art is love. We are love. Healing is love. Source is love. All is love!
