I am an artist living in Brooklyn. I am both a painter and a photographer, and as such each medium informs the other .

In this series of photographs, there is a painterly quality. I am looking for how the elements of art: color, shape, texture and light come together to form an abstract representation of the real world. By zooming in on a particular subject, I try to get to the core of an image.

I am inspired by Brooklyn's many diverse neighborhoods, and am particularly fascinated by the light of both Red Hook and Coney Island. My goal is to capture the moment when the elements of art come together and there is a harmony between the form and content in the photograph.
