The 440 Gallery Project Space show "Above and Beyond"will be on exhibit until March 12th. This is a three person show featuring the work of Joy Makon, Gail Flanery and Robin Roi. All work by the three artists is on paper and focus on a theme of trees and sky. Joy Makon, a former member of PSWT, has a full wall of small sky watercolors as well as a self portrait that tells us more about her beautiful blooming tree featured behind her. Gail Flanery is showing monoprints based on her landscape and tree studies and Robin Roi has a series of four acrylic paintings, all with the same silhouetted landscape, each in a different contrasting color way that seem to give a trompe l'oeil illusion of being cut out. She is also showing one of her Moleskine Japanese accordion albums that continues the tree and sky themes of the show.
